Claire Verified purchase "Arrived a little early so called owner to see if we could wait outside as no where open for a drink nearby. We waited outside and were surprised to see it was pretty dull looking. Not bright like the online images. No garden or river nearby that we could see just a patio.
We were allowed to check in early about 3. Inside was small open plan but looked nice and clean. Shown around and how. Well equipped kitchen and all ensuite rooms. But if it sleeps 6 why is there only 4 chairs in the lounge area which was tiny! Nice central location for getting about.
Nice Chinese in Abergele called wongs and a good takeaway too. Had a great week out and about. Especially recommend the Locked in Escape rooms in Abergele for a great evening. Hot tub was nice although I don't think it was working as it should be. Needed to be screened off was open to camp site and people going to farm no privacySadly we had a few niggles which could easily be sorted. Windows no nets so had to keep curtains closed as.
Tv nope useless and if you don't have a Now tv subscription you will need to get one or you're watching nothing. No mobile signal at all. Probably left it cleaner than when we arrived certainly cleaned up a lot of dead flies and spiders from behind beds.
No sockets near any mirrors ladies. Found folder notes from owners quite short and. Although it's a great. Oh and no bbq as shown in images on website.
Would not go there again felt it overpriced for. Fundamentally, the standard of cleanliness was poor. On arrival the table mats still had food and glass marks from other guests and they are worn and scored, the bin was dirty, and common surfaces were sticky. We were surprised to be asked to strip the beds on departure and sweep the floors!
I really do not know when the floors were last washed. The mattress and pillow protectors were yellow with greasy marks and stained including blood stains. There was no bbq as described, the dvd was broken, and the cookware and plastic tableware was damaged and needs replacing. We were not supplied with enough towels to have one at each sink. Each bedroom would benefit from a mirror and waste paper basket.
There is a large accummulation of local, sticky tourist leaflets but many are duplicated multiple times over and many are four years out of date. This gives me the impression that no attention is paid to these matters at changeover.
We have stayed in many self catering properties before and this one would certainly benefit from having a supply of books, games and dvd's. It makes it more welcoming as would a small supply of washing tablets, a small hamper of local goodies and particularly a bottle of milk on arrival.
A little thought and attention could make a big difference. It is stated that no fuel is provided but it would be welcoming to arrive to a set fire. To find that there was nothing to light the fire with and to start wondering where to find supplies such as mathces, soap, fuel and loo paper as soon as you arrive in a rural location takes a way from a relaxing holiday.
There was though a few things that let us down. This caused a bit of an upset with a couple in our group who were woken up at 2am with a cat on their bed! Luckily nobody in our group was allergic or this could have caused some problems! Our biggest problem though was with the owner. In all we had a lovely weekend it was just let down by these issues. The accommodation was very nice but there wasn't enough space for 6 people to sit in the lounge only 4 comfortably!
I totally understood with it being a working farm that the dogs had to be on a lead which was highlighted in terms but not to be able to leave dogs at any time was on page 15 of terms and conditions at the end of a paragraph, if the owners were so adamant about this it should be on the site highlighted!
We were told to leave the house spotless which we did but on arrival we had to clean bird poo from behind a chair. This cottage would be ideal for a family of four with no pets. Upstairs in the cottage was stunning with fantastic views. Many a nice evening was spent in the hot tub! Asked for some more string to tie the gate as the latch was broken and we had our 1yo grandson with us. There were 7 of us - friends and family. The house was fantastic, very comfortable and clean.
The people had left a bottle of Proseco and a Welsh cake for us, also decorated the table with Christmas crackers and decorations. They had decorated a real Christmas tree too and plenty of Christmas decorations making the place very festive.
The hot tub was lovely and relaxing and we all fitted in comfortably. We drove to the nearby village and walked up to the Waterfalls which were spectacular. We also enjoyed an afternoon rollercoasting down the mountain sideThe house was very well equiped, log burner was cosy, kitchen well stocked.

We really enjoyed the big kitchen space as we like to cook for ourselves. Eira was warm and welcoming and helpful, she even taught us a Welsh word or two! Our stay was made very comfortable by Eira who left the cottage immaculate and ready for us. The space is very cosy and ideal for a couple. Caernarfon is just around the corner and the rest of Snowdonia on your doorstep with fantastic views too. A great place to stay in North Wales. Easily accessible by car to so many of the wonderful places and attractions available in this area.
The home was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well kitted out with plenty of extras in the fridge to make it a great home from home. Eira was an attentive host and easily contactable. We would definitely recommend. Eira was really friendly and accommodating and gave us lots of information about the local area, such as good restaurants to visit etc. The house was clean and she was kind enough to provide us with some basic supplies to get us started including some delightful extras.
The bed was comfortable and Eira made sure that we were happily settled in before leaving us to it. The flat was really close to Caernarfon and we had fun exploring the local area. We arrived quite late into the evening and Eira had given us very clear instructions on how to find the keys so checking in was quick and simple. We were delighted to find some lovely little touches which made the cottage feel very homely straight away. Supplies in the kitchen were very welcome too, especially the wine after a long car journey!
Communications were great before and during our stay and we'd love to come again! We have a lovely stay in Eira's cottage. It's very homely with lots of home comforts.
Very close to Caernarfon and Snowdon. Definitely a good visit! Great location near Caernarfon! A place we have never visited before! The house was easy to find and access wasn't an issue!
The radio was on when we entered along with mood lighting making a nice warm homily welcome to the house! The wooden staircase and wood features are a real nice touch to the house! We found a little note from Eira, along with delicious pickelts welsh crumpets i think butter, jam, cereal, milk and hot drink material which was such a nice a surprise after our long journey!
Eira was very accommodating, and came to meet us before we headed out, recommended a place to eat in the town, The Black Boy Inn! Definitely a good recommendation as the food was out of this world in a traditional style pub, it was amazing!
We slept like logs, very comfy bed, nice warm shower with good pressure! Was a real treat to stay in your adorable little house! Thank you for having us!
Great house downstairs, and large garden for sitting out. Lovely additional touches such as small bottles of wine, milk, cereal etc. However the bedroom is extremely tight and you need to manoeuvre carefully when getting up in the night. Would suit one person. Gwenllian's colourful house was like a wonderful art gallery with a big garden.
Her kitchen was very light and professional with a big cooker. The bedrooms were very nice with good linen. Gwenllian was helpful with advising on places to visit and the beaches of Anglesey were quiet and beautiful.
I would recommend this home wholeheartedly. The accommodation and generosity as a host provided by Gwen was brilliant. Four friends and I were staying to run a nearby event over the weekend and her willingness to feed us, and trust to leave us in the house unattended, meant a lot. A lovely little bungalow with a beautiful garden for relaxing in the sun, I will very much look check for Gwen's availability should I ever be in the area again.
Gwen was really helpful in every aspect of our stay which was a truly great experience. Her home is gorgeous and we so much loved the fireplace helping us to relax after a long day. All the existing reviews are very accurate. The property is very spacious with nice outdoors weather permitting.
We were attending a family wedding 2 miles away and Gwenllian's home was perfect for our needs. After also visiting Llandudno on a particularly drab moist day it was wonderful to return and find that the coal fire had been lit. There is an extensive library as well as a well-equipped kitchen. Gwen's home is fantastic. Very spacious, with a beutifully fitted kitchen. Plenty of room for all the family and a big garden too! We loved the location, the fire was very cosey and we all enjoyed a nice breakfast together around the table in the morning.
Really beautiful home with plenty of room. Gwenllian was very welcoming , and helpful. She gave us a ride into carnaerfon town on our arrival and pointed out some good restaurants. The accommodation was very comfortable and the dinner that Gwenllian cooked was wonderful. Basil was very accommodating about our early arrival and the cottage was perfect for us. It's spacious, nicely decorated and the beds are comfy.
There's a convenient bus service to Llanberis, and the local pub - the Gywntrog - serves good hearty evening dinners. We a group of four friends had a great stay at Ship Cottage for 3 nights. We were out hiking in Snowdonia two of the days of our stay, and both points that we struck out from were within a half hour drive.
On our final day in Wales we drove to Anglesea, which was also reachable well within 30 minutes. The cottage itself was very comfortable, and the kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. It was an ideal place to come back and relax after a long day out hiking. I would definitely stay at Ship Cottage again. It was such a treat to stay at Ship's Cottage - truly a home away from home.
The house was sparkling clean and tastefully furnished, with lovely views of the mountain. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed, even to whip up a tiramisu and brownies. The beds were also incredibly comfy. We loved our stay there while exploring Snowdonia, Anglesey and the coast, all of which was within a short drive. Basil also gave us a warm welcome and helpful suggestions for where to visit.
We arrived for our 3 night stay at ships cottage to be met by Basil, who proved to be the perfect host. The cottage has a warm, cosey feel, yet there was ample room for two adults, two children and our pet dog.
The cottage is perfectly appointed and is ideally situated for exploring snowdonia and beyond, with Snowdon is visible from the cottage.
Ships cottage is a lovely cottage in a wonderful, picturesque location, the pictures simple do not do it justice. Can't wait for our next visit! Cottage was fantastically clean, and had everything we could need. A beautiful honeymoon location! Me, my girlfriend and our two dogs stayed here for 3 nights, but wish we stayed for longer! The cottage is beautiful inside and out in a great location, two local pubs in walking distance, and not far from Snowdon itself. We have recommend this cottage to family members who have now booked to go in August.
We will definitely be back ourselves soon! Had a brilliant week staying at Ship cottage. The cottage was clean, warm and equipped with everything we could possibly need and has a fantastic view of Snowdon.
Basil was a fantastic host and Jango, their gorgeous dog, was a big hit with my boys. The cottage is in a small village which has a little co-op, a couple of pubs and a fish and chip shop. It's a great location for visiting Llanberis, Caernarfon Where you can do a bit of crabbing , Green forest park which is great for kids and is pushchair and dog friendly and we also found a lovely beach at Dinas Dinlle, where there was a great fish and chip shop and the kids had fun finding hermit crabs.
We were blessed with fantastic weather. Would definitely love to stay again. Ship cottage is in a great location and has spectacular views of the mountains and Snowdon in particular. The cottage is warm and cosy, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the big bath and plentiful supply of hot water. We had a lovely time and wished we'd stayed longer. Basil is a great host and we felt very comfortable during our stay. The cottage was an absolute heaven to stay in.
It was furnished with everything we needed and felt like a home away from home. The views from the cottage were stunning. Such a wonderful space.
The bed was very comfy. Unfortunately we haven't had a chance to meet Anna in person, however her husband welcomed us and made sure we were happy with everything. Would love to return, it's the perfect location for exploring the surrounding area and a relaxing space in itself. Thank you for our stay!
Amazing view from the decking over the lake, lovely secluded location, peaceful, has everything you need for a few days away! A microwave would have made preparing food easier, but this may just be me being lazy! Brilliant stay, has my recommendation! This is a special place. The location is amazing. The views over the lake and mountains are fantastic. We enjoyed sitting on the decking looking at it with a coffee. The barn itself is comfortable and cosy.
This place is a real gem of a find. Perched on a hill opposite Llanberis and overlooking Lake Padarn, it is a stunning location. The cabin has everything you need and is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Already can't wait to come back.
The Cabin is in a beautiful location with stunning views. I love Llanberis and the access to Snowdonia is perfect. The cabin was wonderfully cosy, clean and had everything I needed for my stay. I didn't want to leave! Beautiful cabin with lovley little touches inside. Definitely need a car as right at top of steep hill.
Lots of activities to do in the area with everything u need. Perfect getaway at a great price x. Fantastic place to stay. Great location and within 20 minutes drive to Mt. Nice and clean and all the amenities we could have needed were provided.
Tracey our host provided great communication and is just next door if you have any queries. We are planning to come back to Tracey's place when we revisit Snowdonia in the future. Thank you Tracey for hosting us on a very memorable trip.
What lovely hosts Tracey and Steve are, greeting you with a very warm welcome , the minute you step inside this fully restored cottage, retaining some wonderful pierod features you will certainly feel at home. We recommend this gem of a cottage to anyone who wishes to visit Wales. Thank you for a lovely stay, our 4 year of daughter even cried when we had to leave as she fell in love with it.
Very sweet little cottage. Picturesque in and out of the town. Great for a couple days and as a base to explore the area. Tracey is a wonderful person. The cottage is very very clean and cosy for holiday breaks. I am definitely going there again and I would suggest every one to consider her pace as a first choice.
The cottage is beautiful, immaculately clean with everything we needed and more. The pictures don't do it justice. Tracey left little personal touches which made it very welcoming and homely. Tracey was also very accommodating for our little boy, providing a travel cot and high chair. The cottage felt like a home from home for us all and it is in a great location to access many of the best attractions in North Wales.
Perfect accommodation for our family holiday and would love to return again one day. Beautiful cottage in a scenic village! Cottage has everything neccessary for a comfortable stay. Beds are comfy including the sofa bed! Tracey and Steve were excellent hosts and very accessible with answers to anything regarding the surrounding area. This is a remarkable find and the photos don't do it justice. If you love rustic charm then you can't beat this place.
Our visit was a highlight for us. The home is impeccable clean and Tracey has thought of everything. It is just perfect and located in a charming hamlet.
What more can we say. Cannot recommend more highly. Luke was a great host - treated us to homemade bread and lovely local marmalade for breakfast. His house was very charming and in a great location.
Luke was really accommodating during my stay at his lovely little cottage. We arrived very late in the evening due to work commitments, but this was no problem for Luke, who insisted we drove safely and took our time getting there, staying up past midnight to welcome us in to his home.
We used it as a stopover for climbing Snowdon the next morning which was perfect and an ideal location. The room itself had tons of character, with a comfortable bed and atmosphere.
As we arrived late in the dark, we were met with a pleasant shock when leaving in the morning at how stunning the little cottage was from the outside. I highly recommend a stay here, and am sure Luke will be an accommodating and helpful host to any needs. Luke was a really great Airbnb host! Highly-knowledgeable of the vicinity, well-traveled and an extremely easy person to talk to. He is easily contactable and responds quickly.
Thanks for the great time, the hospitality and the good laughs. We really enjoyed staying at your little place! Nice person in a nice place. We were greeted with a friendly smile at Bangor station and instantly felt welcome.
Luke was kind enough to take us to the local shop to pick up groceries on route to his home and such thoughtfulness was displayed throughout our stay.
The cottage was exactly what we needed, a self contained area of the cottage all to ourselves. The loft bed was comfortable in a clean and neat space. Downstairs was a private living space where we could relax. We enjoyed Luke's company so much that we did a couple of hikes together! He was hospitable and helpful during our entire stay, we will definitely visit again!
We enjoyed our stay in Luke's house. It was an excellent spot to leave for a hike in snowdons mountans and it was great to come back and warm ourselves at the woodfire. Luke is a pleasant person. Which brought us from Snowdonia to the hinterland of Aberystwyth. Great little place in a stunning location. The cottage is gorgeous and cosy, with everything you'll need inside. Location gives easy access to so many amazing and scenic places that Wales has to offer.
Fiona herself is very lovely. She was warm and welcoming, and felt almost like a friend we already knew. Hoping to revisit again this year, and would highly recommend to all family and friends! We came up to North Wales for a couple of days in the countryside, Fiona's place was absolutely perfect and well located for walking snowdon. The place was cosy and well equip, the log burner was already roaring when we arrived. Y Sied was the perfect place to explore North Wales and 3 days certainly wasn't enough time to do it in!
Y Sied was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean with every little added extra you could think of! Fiona was so helpful and gave us some great advice for climbing snowdon! We loved our stay and will definitely return in the future! Missing snuggling up in front of the cosy fire already! Thanks again for everything Fiona. Perfect place to call home for a few days in Snowdonia. The cottage is very well equipped and everything has been thought of. Great hosts and couldn't recommend highly enough.
I cannot say enough positive things about our stay at Y Sied. Fiona is a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome - giving us helpful information and on hand to answer any questions. Lots of information, books and maps in the cottage too. We were lucky enough to be Fiona's first guests and are sure not to be the last.
This is simply the best equipped self-catering place I have ever stayed - she has thought of everything to make this feel like home from home. The breakfast was really generous and we even had enough food for a couple of packed lunches.
The cottage is compact, characterful, spotlessly clean and in a beautiful setting - a perfect, romantic hideaway for 2. We had a most wonderful stay and would definitely love to return, again and again.. I fear once others discover this place, it will become fully booked! Cottage is in a great location for a quiet, leafy stay in Wales.
We stayed for 2 nights over the late May bank holiday and could of probably done with one more night! We walked to the local town which was roughly 2. We did the Watkins walk up Snowdon which was a half hour drive from the house, coming back to our warm, comfy cottage for a game of scrabble was perfect.
Little garden is ideal and we used this for a BBQ in the evening, kitchen is small but all you need for cooking indoors to keep, as we did, the costs down making breakie and dinners easily.
The only note I would make is the stairs to the 'bedroom' require a lot of concentration, I would not advise a older person to stay as I worried myself going up and down - particularly in the night. They are quite steep and with one side open a little hazardous.. Otherwise a great weekend away in a lovely spot of Wales!
Thank you for Fiona for being so welcoming, would come again! Fiona was the perfect host. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous and so quirky. There were lots of extras such as eggs from Fiona's own chicken which my partner and I loved. There was so much to do in ththe surrounding area. We did the zip line which was amazing. The cottage is in the perfect location. We will be going back to stay again as one weekend isn't enough for all that we wanted to do.
We had a wonderful stay here and found it to be the perfect place from which to explore the area while remaining in easy reach of town. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful and our hosts were very welcoming and accommodating - rarely have we been anywhere where such thought had clearly been put into providing anything we made need during our stay.
The cottage was very cosy and well kept and we would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing break in this lovely part of the world. We had a lovely stay, the apartment was very clean and modern. The area was very scenic and we came on such a hot day the only thing we struggled with was the WiFi, but apart from that everything was amazing and we would definitely come back.
Ideally located for exploring North Wales. The bread and milk were very handy upon arrival. Had an amazing bank holiday stay! The annex has everything you need and very spacious. The location is spot on and very handy for exploring the whole of Anglesey.
Cathy was very hospitable and nothing was too much. Thank you for a lovely break. This is fantastic little gem of a place. Everything was spotlessly clean and it was modern and stylish we particularly liked the light shade in the kitchen area! We only stayed a night but it is so well equipped that it would be ideal for a longer stay.
This was our first stay in an airbnb property and the bar has been set high. Beautiful annex in Anglesea situated just under an hour from Snowdon. Well presented, clean with a modern touch. The bed was so comfortable too wow! This stay was fantastic, Carys was really helpful and contacted us in advance of our stay to give us directions on how to reach the place. Upon our arrival we found the annex to be spotlessly clean and full with modern and easy to use appliances. There was nothing that we needed that wasn't there.
The location was fantastic and this Air BnB was definitely good value for money. Lovely clean and comfortable with stylish decor. Great location for us with easy access to Anglesey and Snowdonia. Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. We booked the cottage in order to attend a local race but we are already planning our next trip to stay for a long weekend. Close Snowdon, it's fantastic location for walking and a runners dream.
Gorgeous little cottage with beautiful views. Cosy interior and we loved the fact that we could have an open fire. Perfect place to stay to climb Snowden.. Had such a great time, only stayed a couple of nights but it was absolutely stunning. The view was lovely, the house was lovely and it was just a very very comfortable place to be. I will definitely be back hopefully soon!!
Lovely quiet spot, wish we'd had longer to enjoy the fire, the books and some nice coffee. And some sun to enjoy the garden! We did get some nice walks in though. The shower is great and all of the info we had beforehand was spot on.
The notes about the drive way to the house aren't kidding- it's a narrow one and if you're visiting in the winter some good slippers are useful. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need, the views are beautiful and the location is great for exploring Snowdonia.
We went to do a charity walk up Snowdon and the start to the climb we chose was only a 10 min drive to Llanberis. My advice for those cooking at the cottage is make sure you have everything you need as popping back out again is a bit of a faff with the lane! The cottage is really nice on the pictures but it's even nicer once you get there! It's really well equipped, well-maintained, clean, warm and cozy. The traditional fire place is the cherry on the cake - so nice!
The cottage is easy to find, has great views and is on a very good location. We had a great time and will certainly go back! Our third stay here. Gareth's information before and on arrival was helpful and prompt responses much appreciated. Already planning our next visit! First thing's first, let's start off with the host. Helen is the G. Literally the greatest of all time. Best Airbnb host we've ever had and a very pleasant experience. Extremely friendly and very hospitable.
I was playing a squash tournament and she was very helpful and kind, asking if there was anything we needed and encouraging to ask for anything should we need it, not to mention very inquisitive and well wishing about my tournament.
On top of that, the room is very comfortable and you have everything you need for a great stay. Kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to make ourselves breakfast and dinner. Also in a great location with great views nearby. Very comfortable modern well equipped apartment in a very convenient location.
Our host went the extra mile by leaving us basic supplies and a newspaper. We would recommend this to couples. We stayed for a couple of nights at Helen's place and it was perfect for our needs. Everything was there that we needed, including some fresh items for breakfast.
Would definitely stay again if in the area. Helen was a great hostess and the property is very clean and comfortable. It is a good base for a couple for exploring Anglesey; and about a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants in Menai Bridge Helen as a host went above and beyond for us to ensure we were happily accommodated. This was our first trip to this part of Wales and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The apartment was spotless, very well facilitated and very great value for what you are getting.
You may find cheaper locations but you won't get the same hospitality and comfort we had at Helen's.
We could even seen the mountain we climbed from outside her home! Wish you all the best Helen - hope to stay again soon for our next visit. I will definitely stay here again. Helen is a great host making sure I felt welcome and even had bread, fruits and condiments for my consumption which I thought was very thoughtful. Helen is a very friendly host and communicates well.
The apartment is clean and cosy, and Helen provides fruit and breakfast basics. Really great little place to stay in the quiet welsh countryside.
The small chalet is great for a couple and has all the basics you need. As others have said this is a great option for walkers looking to have a solid roof over their heads for the evening. We had a very warm welcome from Nicholas and his family and we not wanting for anything during our stay.
If you are super tall the kitchen and bathroom ceiling might be a little low but my boyfriend managed well for our one night stay. But we were super happy and definitely would stay there again. Me and my partner stayed in Nick's chalet for two nights while we were visiting to climb Mount Snowdon.
The location is lovely, located down a country track it is quiet and very scenic, Nick very kindly recommended a stunning viewpoint that could be reached in a ten minute walk from the chalet.
It is a very short drive to the routes up Snowdon and there are shops and a few places to eat nearby. The chalet is basic and caters for the guest that is using it for a place to rest their heads while they explore the location. The chalet does get quite cold and damp at night but does benefit from a log fire. The chalet is located behind Nick's parents house, they do have 3 dogs which can wonder around and are quite inquisitive- if you have a fear of bigger dogs it wouldn't be the right choice in our opinion.
Nick was very friendly and helpful right from the booking stage, and offered us help and advice on our climb, as well as explaining the nearby location and directions. Thank you Nick and your parents for your kindness and guidance during our stay. Host we're welcoming and friendly, everything was smooth in regards to prior communication and arranging arrival time, departure time was also relaxed which was a lovely added bonus. It wouldn't suit everybody but we loved it and we highly recommend and hopefully we can visit again soon.
Thank you for a lovely weekend and sharing your beautiful home with us. This place is a gem. Off the beaten track hidden in a valley but conveniently placed for local towns. This cute cottage has everything you'll Website hidden by Airbnb one small space. Stunning views and the most lovely balcony seat right from the bedroom window!
Superb value and Stunning! Beautiful house, the dream is to own a house not dissimilar for a second home. Amazing and perfect for snowdon! Stunning barn with jaw dropping views. Great comms from Sally the host and very thoughtful touches upon arrival. A really lovely barn conversion with a massive window looking out on to a spectacular view. Under floor heating was particularly welcome as the weekend was very cold.
The place was fantastic, the views were stunning, and the hosts were helpful and generous. What a beautiful spot. The landscape is magnificent, we had a breathtaking view from the terrace and from the large scenic window.
The house has everything you need and is so tastefully furnished. Thank you Sally and Wally. We had a lovely stay in the beautiful barn conversion! Would definitely recommend and will be returning ourselves!!
The views and the cottage are stunning. An excellent base for exploring Anglesey- I would highly recommend staying here. The cottage is finished to such a high standard, and we loved waking up to the views and the horses!
We can echo the previous reviews, the bed is comfy. The location is perfect for visiting Snowdonia and North Wales. Paul kindly stayed up when we were really delayed arriving by bank holiday traffic. Paul is a really good host, he is really commited to his guests. The room is really comfortable and peaceful very good lightning, this is rare!
Paul can also provide you with local tips! We both slept well on the very comfortable bed and in peaceful surroundings, and had breakfast the following morning. Paul was around when we checked in and out, and was able to give us tips for where to eat locally. Paul's cottage was ideal for our long weekend in Snowdonia. Tucked away in a quiet location, with easy access to Llanberis and the Ogwen Valley. Paul was very helpful with tips on places to eat and the forthcoming weather, and has lots of local knowledge.
Everything is clean and tidy with fresh bed linen and towels, plus the bed is very comfy! Warm, and charmingly fretful, Paul welcomes your company. I nudged him to charge a little more for his cozy cottage that sits in a tranquil, genuine bit of Welsh countryside.
A true post-hike haven. He wouldn't hear of it. We had an ideal stay at Paul's and can only really echo all the other great reviews about the comfy bed, cleanliness, excellent hosting and great coffee.
He's a top bloke and was ace with our dog, even dog-sitting her while we went to Zipworld. We had a good 2-day stay with Paul. He was helpful with advice and pretty easy going. The cottage was years old and as expected was small, but quite liveable. Edward and Paul loved sharing their musical experiences. Lovely house, even lovelier hostess. Alicia makes you feel completely at home. I fully recommend staying here! A lovely spacious house, immaculately kept, which was a pleasure to stay in.
Alicia was extremely helpful. We had a perfect family getaway. We've just had a wonderful stay in Alicia's lovely home. The facilities are great we have kitchen and garden room envy! It was ideally located for the Velocity Zip World and we highly recommend this place. Alicia is the best host i ever met. She is very responsive to every message, friendly and helpful. She waited to welcome and show around her house. Her house is like a dream house for me. She has her personal touch for every area.
Every room and area is very beautiful. Everything is very clean. Her kitchen is complete with all utensils. Her backyard is very spacious. Kids enjoyed playing football at the backyard.
A Real Home from Home, we all felt so comfortable, it was a lovely environment to share a wonderful family Birthday. Many thanks Alicia for all the effort in making our stay so easy and relaxed.
Great host so welcoming and friendly lovely house and a great place to stay to access the mountains etc in the Snowdonia National Park. A very quiet location. Gwyndaf was very welcoming and very accommodating inclusding giving us some great advice on the local area. Anything in perfect order.
We felt really very comfortable. Gwydaf has been a very helpful and charm host. Everything has outranged our expectations. Fantastic welcome - with milk in the fridge, some wine and Welsh Cakes to get any stay off to a great start. Wonderfully set-out and furnished apartment with little surprises like a garden room with barbecue.
And there's a gazebo at the end of the garden from which to watch over the valleys and mountains of Snowdonia as the sun sets. A terrifically restful and tranquil place to unwind - or as a launchpad for the many adventures to be had in the Welsh hills.
I'm finding it hard think of anywhere I'd rather spend time, to be frank, and cant wait to go back! We had a lovely time at this cottage. Gwyndaf was so welcoming and thought of everything anyone would need to have a lovely stay. The cottage is clean and tidy and has plenty of amenities. The garden is beautiful, unfortunately the weather stopped us from enjoying the summer house but it also looked lovely.
The location is great, we drove to Surf Snowdonia and Zip world with no problems. The Rhyd Ddu path to climb snowdon is an easy drive from the property and a great way to climb it. Caernarfon is also a short drive away and is a lovely town to visit. Overall we had an excellent few days and will definitely be back!
The little house is situated near the sea and the mountains with marvelous views and a lovely little gardenparc. Everything is there and also the kitchen is well equipped. We were warmly welcomed and had some good days. Hans and Bettina from Germany. Gwyndaf was incredibly accommodating and friendly. He greeted us warmly and made sure we were absolutely happy with everything and got us settled in for our stay at his place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our spotless, comfy space and also the magnificent gardens with great views. The location is fantastic for getting out and about, as well as being secluded enough to be away from the hustle and bustle if you are looking for a private, peaceful break.
Would not hesitate to recommend. Great hospitality and a lovely place to stay. Ideal location next to the sea and in walking distance of the town. The accommodation is first rate and is very clean and to a high specification.
A lovely building, quiet and scenic location but just a short walk from the centre of town. The barn is a beautifully decorated and cosy cottage to come home to after a long day exploring the picturesque area around Caernarfon. We walked in to the old city for dinner or supplies and also cooked for ourselves as the kitchen has everything you need. Megan was incredibly helpful a stand out! Grace welcomed us warmly and made us feel very at home.
Fresh welsh cakes were left for us along with fresh coffee to brew. All in all we had a wonderfully relaxing few days …. Thank you so much! Stayed for 5 days with our dog. Thank you for being a great host we all enjoyed our time in North Wales. Great host with good communication, answered all our questions and check in was easy. Accommodation was spotless and everything we expected and some really useful little extras.
Great attention to detail. Lovely welcome, despite our very late arrival! Loved the welsh cakes, the cottage had everything we needed, super clean and beautifully decorated. Will definitely be back, 2 nights wasn't long enough. The location of the flat was perfect and the size was great.
We were a party of 2 couples and a 16 month old. Jules had put up the travel cot for when we arrived and had kindly left coffee, tea and milk for us. The flat was very clean. I must say I was chuffed with how comfy the beds were often something I worry about when staying somewhere new. Jules provided us with lots of information about the flat prior to staying so we knew how everything worked and replied immediately if we asked a question.
Check-in and out was easy. There were renovations taking place in the flat below but as Jules had told them we were arriving we didn't notice it at all and they were very considerate about what time they worked when we were there. This apartment was perfect for our needs we were on a charity event on Snowdon which is only a 15 min drive away.
The location in Y Felinheli is amazing with great views of the Menai straights and access to beautiful beaches on Anglesey. The apartment is in the process of being tastefully restored and is well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The entrance to this flat might be unusual but don't let that put you off it's comfortable, well equipped and Jules is very helpful! We stayed 3 nights in Jules' place, although we didn't meet because Jules arranged for us to collect the key very easily. The apartment is cosy, clean, nicely furnished and well equipped. The photos don't do the apartment justice. The view over the straits is great and the beds were so comfy! Very friendly host and really excellent communication.
Jules' place has lots of quirky character, and in a great location to explore Angelesey and North Wales. This apartment was perfect for us. We were in the area to hike Snowdon and do some zip lining.
It is centrally located to everything we were doing so no long drives which is always a plus. The apartment itself was easy to locate with the hosts directions. It was very clean and had everything needed for our weekend trip. If staying longer there was a large Tesco's located about a 10 min drive down the road. Jules was also always available if anything came up and we needed assistance. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment, which is coveneniently located for our needs whilst in the area.
It proved to be a cosy home away from home and had great views of the menai strait. Kitchen was especially well equipped.

Welcome to my gorgeous one bed miner's cottage. Set in the heart of Snowdonia it has views across Angelsey and the Irish Sea. The inside is deceptively spacious, and is ideal for a couple or small family who want to get away from it all.
Recently rebuilt 8 years ago to a high standard this cottage features all mod cons, double glazing, full central heating, and unlike most stone Welsh cottages in the area it's warm, light, and dry! The lounge and kitchen are open plan, with a raised ceiling into the roofline.
The main feature of the lounge is the original stone fireplace that defines that cottage feel. A fully equipped kitchen with double electric oven, hob, fridge and Microwave. The bedroom and bathroom are entered from an adjoining doorway. The bedroom has a double bed, a wardrobe and cupboards for your use.
The front of the house overlooks miles of open countryside and villages, all the way across to Hollyhead on Angelsey some 25 miles away. The Irish Sea can be seen from the bench seat in the front garden. Easy road side parking to the front of the property, a key will be inside a keysafe near the front door. I often work away so it would be unusual to see me, but my friendly neighbours will be able to help with any enquires. I am often in the area at weekends.
Fell free to contact me at any time with any questions, and I'll be more than happy to help. Being set in Snowdonia it has so much to offer the visitor. The house itself is set high on a hill side. Simply standing outside gives you amazing views, the sun sets in front of the house in the summer months so it's not unusual to see all the neighbours sat outside in the evening, with a bbq and a drink. Walking out of the front door brings you immediately into the mountains.
You are spoilt for choice for things to do, walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, photography, great places to eat, the list goes on and on. Nearby attractions are the Dinorwic Slate Quarries, these were at one time one of the largest quarries in the world, these are just a mile away, great for walking, biking and exploration. The nearby village of Llanberis is a mecca for walkers and climbers alike, with easy access to Snowdon and it's Mountain Railway, and also from there into the famous Lllanberis Pass and Ogwen Valleys.
Zip World, is a few minutes drive away, this is the longest zip wire in the Northern Hemisphere and is over a mile long. Then there is Angelsey, with it's stunning scenery and attractions there is plenty for everyone, it's beaches are exceptional. Easy access by car to all areas, walking and cycling is a pleasure from here too. Buses run from outside the house to Bangor and Caernarfon, but having a car would make for an easier trip.
A the cottage is in Snowdonia, the mountains are in close proximity to the sea so the weather here has it's own micro climate. Always be prepared for every weather and you'll be fine. Parking the car close to the property was easy To repeat, the stay was brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there Rob T A Cozy cabin to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey.
